We are hiring! Join an excellent team of researchers dedicated to coming closer to the mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, that no child will die in the dawn of life. We seeking a highly skilled and motivated (Senior) Bioinformatics Research Scientist to join our prestigious Blue Sky Kinase Initiative. Led by Dr. Babis Kalodimos and M. Madan Babu, this exciting endeavor is funded by over $50 million, providing exceptional resources and research conditions.

The position will be in the Ligand Discovery Team that Dr. Christoph Gorgulla is leading, which is part of the larger Blue Sky Initiative. We have available positions of two types:

  1. Applied computational ligand discovery
  2. Method development for computational drug discovery

1. Applied computational ligand discovery positions:

Your mission will be to identify novel ligands/hit/lead compounds, with a particular focus on kinases, and optimize them to obtain new tool compounds and drug candidates for the treatment of various diseases (including structure-based virtual screenings, classical and quantum mechanical free energy simulations, machine learning and ai techniques).

The role can be a postdoc, a Bioinformatics Research Scientist, or Senior The role can be a postdoc, a Bioinformatics Research Scientist, depending on your qualifications.

2. Method development for computational drug discovery

As a Senior Computational Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in our computational ligand discovery team, led by Dr. Christoph Gorgulla. Your primary mission will be to develop novel methods for computational hit and lead identification (small molecules and/or biologics), based on ultra-large virtual screenings and machine learning, and other types of molecular simulations. The new methods and features that you will develop will be added to the VirtualFlow drug discovery platform (Gorgulla, Nature 2020).

The role can be a postdoc, a Computational Research Scientist, or Senior Computational Research Scientist, depending on your qualifications.
